- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

- 2 cups 200g shredded cheddar cheese – or a blend of cheddar and mozzarella
- 2 cups 240g uncooked pasta (such as elbow macaroni) – or substitute with 3 cups thinly sliced potatoes if preferred
- 1 can (14.5 oz or about 400g diced tomatoes, drained)
- 1/2 cup 120ml tomato sauce – helps keep the casserole moist
- 1/2 cup 120ml milk – adds creaminess and moisture

- 1/2 cup 60g diced bell peppers – for extra flavor and color
- 1/4 cup 30g crumbled bacon – for a richer, smoky flavor

Preparing Ingredients
Brown the Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet and cook the ground beef until it’s browned evenly. Drain excess fat to keep the casserole from being overly greasy.
Add Seasonings: Stir in salt, pepper, garlic, and any other seasonings.
Prepare the Pasta or Potatoes: Cook the pasta until just al dente or prepare thinly sliced potatoes.
